My Sister, My Hero
My sister was my Guardian Angel. She practically raised me back when we were kids in Yugoslavia. My mom did the farming. My father was in Hungary building brick towers. My sister was in charge of cleaning, cooking, making supper, feeding the animals…and taking care of me. Her little sister. And I was a brat. I ran away twice a day because I wanted to play with my cousins who lived quite a distance away. This meant crossing a bridge with a stream running under it. So she had quite a bit of worry when I was gone. One time I fell into the sewer and she had to help me get out. Another time I was barefoot and stepped in chicken poop. It felt like fire squeezing through my tiny toes. But once again, my sister was there to clean me up and make it all better. These and so many other instances are why she is my hero for life. My hero forever.
Love you always. Your sister, Josephine

Dear Terri,
What a gift your mom was to you, the family, and everyone who loved her. Hers was a life well lived and that is all any of us can hope for. She came through adversity in her early years to build a happy life with her family and friends, and helped others along the way as a witness to her faith. You were her rock, Terri. God bless your mom, you, and the entire Hegyi family, and may He comfort you during this difficult time.

Dear Terri.
Dan and I want to express our most sincere condolences to you at this very sad time. We recall a meal with you and Mom at her house on a visit back to New Jersey. Maria was a complete joy and a sweet lady. I had many conversations on the phone with her over the years and she always loved and appreciated how you cared for her, always. Her kindness and comfort will be missed by all who knew her. She is in a better place with her Lord. Please take comfort knowing that others care and share your grief. What a marvelous long and vibrant life she had. Rest In Peace, 'Mrs. H.' Thinking of you, always. Karen & Dan (that girl in Montana where it's too cold)

God must have known there would be times we would need a gentle touch. A tender, understanding heart to love us very much. He must have known we would need someone to listen to our cares, to comfort and remember us in loving thoughts and prayers. So in his boundless wisdom, God sent us from above the dearest blessing in the world a mother's precious love. Mom you were and are the best Mother and always will be. I was so lucky God blessed me to be your daughter. You may be gone from my sight, but you will always be in my heart.
I love you forever and always, your best special friend - Terri
