James Anthony DeLuca, 62, of Riverview, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 with his loving wife by his side.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Jimmy, as he was known by his family and friends, was a graduate of Xaverian High School. He went on to work in various positions throughout his life but his favorite job by far was working in National Shoe Store where
he met Joanne, his wife of 38 years, when she came in to buy shoes. He put his phone number in the shoe box and four years later they were married. Jimmy and Joanne
went on to build an amazing life together. They have two beautiful children, Dominique
Elena and James Anthony. They lived ni Staten Island, NY and Enfield, CT before settling in Riverview, FL.
Wherever Jimmy went there was always excitement. He was ful of life, he loved to joke around, enjoy a glass of scotch, smoke a good cigar, and spend time with his friends and family. Jimmy also loved sports - he enjoyed his daughter's soccer games, his son's
baseball games, going to hockey games, playing golf with his son and watching his favorite team, the JETS play football. Jimmy never let his illnesses get him down nor did he complain. He fought until the end and held on to his strong Catholic faith.
Predeceased by his father James Anthony DeLuca, step-father Nicola Ruggiero, grandparents Sam and Rae Moreno, and John and Rose DeLuca.
He is survived by his wife Joanne, children Dominique and James, mother Annette DeLuca Ruggiero, brother John (Patricia) DeLuca, brother-in-law Robert (Noreen) Nigro, and many nieces and nephews.
