Obituary of Barbara Kocopej

BARBARA KOCOPEJ Barbara Kocopej 91 of Hamilton passed away February 26, 2016 peacefully at home. Mrs. Kocopej was born in the Village of Stara Yaholnychia in the Ternopil region of Ukraine. After leaving her homeland at the age of 17 she met and married her beloved husband Wasyl in Germany before immigrating to England and then the U.S. in 1958. A Parishioner of St. Josephat's Ukranian Catholic Church and the Sisterhood. She is retired from Circle F. Industries. The family offers a special thanks to her caregivers Mary, Pasha and Zoya for their loving and compassionate care over the last several years. Daughter of the late Iryna Bosiak Sister of the late Iryna Wife of the late Wasyl Kocopej who predeceased her in 2010 after over 60 years of marriage. Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Omelan and Erika Kotsopey of Yardville. her cherished Grandsons Andrew and Peter Kotsopey Niece Helena Sobieraj and her daughter of Poland. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00am Monday at St. Josephat's Church, 1195 Deutz Avenue, Hamilton. The Very Rev. Dean Taras R. Lonchyna will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery #3 Relatives and friends may call Monday at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton. from 8:30am until Panahida service at 10:15. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephat's Ukrainian Catholic Church 1195 Deutz Avenue, Hamilton NJ 08611
