Obituary of Albert F. Dietrich

It is with sadness that the family of Albert F. Dietrich, 91, of Hamilton, announce his passing on August 10, 2019. He passed peacefully in his sleep. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Dolores (Schilling) Dietrich; his son and daughter-in law Douglas and Susan Dietrich and grandchildren Kathryn and Zachary, all of Hamilton. He is also survived by his sister, Ceil Olivieri and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born and raised in Hamilton, NJ, he was the son of Jacob and Nellie (Jansen) Dietrich. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved daughter Lisa Dietrich, brothers Fr. Severin Dietrich OFM, Robert Dietrich and J. Raymond Dietrich, Sister-in-law Florence Dietrich and Brother-in-law Dominick Olivieri. Albert attended Trenton Catholic and was a member of United States Naval Reserves. He was a talented machinist/model maker who managed the machine shop at Sarnoff Corporation formerly known as RCA Labs. After retiring, he worked as an instructor at Princeton University sharing his knowledge with students. He was an extremely skilled craftsman who could fix anything. He loved his German heritage, motorcycles, cars, studying genealogy and reading the comics with Snoopy and the Peanuts gang being his favorite. His greatest joy was being a father and a grandfather. His kindness, charm and charitable nature were just a few of his many wonderful qualities. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visiting hours will be at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton NJ on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 9am-10:30am. The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11am at St. Raphael – Holy Angels Church 3500 South Broad St. Hamilton NJ. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hamilton Continuing Care as well as Compassionate Care Hospice for their kindness and care of Albert during his final days.
